Here, instead of continuing to the right along path no. 1061, follow the gently sloping path to the left and then, at a hairpin bend, climb to the right towards Pianai (the highest point of the route, at around 620 metres above sea level), from where you can admire a fantastic view of the Treviso Pre-Alps and the Prosecco Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is here that the route joins CAI Trail no. 1039, which continues at altitude to the edge of a gorge (the Valsalega), where a more challenging section known as ‘le scaffe’ begins, with a few points where care is required. Once at the bottom of the gorge, which is very picturesque, you climb easily along a path known as “scalette”, which then reverses direction and descends to the Capitello di Sant’Anna, from where you can reach Osigo, in the municipality of Fregona.

Alternatively, continuing along path 1039, you follow an easy descent that quickly brings you back to the main road and, from there, back to the Church of Montaner.
