Montaner
Nestled amongst the woods of Cansiglio, Montaner is an ancient village with medieval origins, renowned for its spectacular views stretching all the way to the sea and the Euganean Hills.
With its historic villages, nature trails and glimpses into rural life, it offers an authentic journey through the Sàrmede area, combining nature, art and landscape.
Rugolo
The oldest settlement in Sàrmede, Rugolo is the historical and artistic heart of the area.
Dominated by the Parish Church of San Giorgio and the small square named after Štěpán Zavřel, which is decorated with frescoes by the Bohemian artist, it combines spirituality, art and nature.
Panoramic trails leading to Monte Castelir and the UNESCO Prosecco Hills start from here.
Val
Between Montaner and Rugolo lies Borgo Val, the cradle of Sàrmede's most ancient history.
The Da Montanara family, later the Da Camino family, was born here, and even today the village retains its medieval atmosphere around the little church of Santa Cecilia, the oldest building in the municipality.
A place where history, faith, and rural landscape blend harmoniously.
